Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial Osteopathy is a speciality that has been around since the early 20th century and is gaining acceptance and popularity by virtue of its effectiveness and gentle approach.

It is rather a misleading term, as it can be applied to any part of the body, but most commonly around the head and lower back.

Cranial Osteopathy can help with mechanical problems as well as other ailments such as blocked sinues, migraines etc

Many conditions can be helped by Cranial Osteopathy. In addition to the more common mechanical problems that result in people seeking conventional treatment, it can also help with other ailments such as blocked sinuses, migraines etc.

An important benefit is in the treatment of babies and young children, as difficult births can impose a variety of strains and tensions on the baby, resulting in symptoms such as colic or fretfulness etc.

The Osteopath uses a highly trained sense of touch to identify and correct strain patterns in order to improve the overall functioning of the body as well as relieve symptoms.

Generally, people find the treatment very relaxing, but actual awareness of any changes being induced varies between individuals. Some people feel nothing at all, whilst others may experience a variety of sensations including warmth or tingling. This has no bearing on the effectiveness of the treatment.
